Cederberg
DDi Cederberg is a proprietary scent formulation. It is fresh and herbaceous harnessing floral ingredients of Africa's Western Cape floristic kingdom - Thyme (chemotyped linalool) and Blue Rosemary (chemotyped 1,8 cineole). A calming green start, with a lasting crisp finish intermingled with the sweetness of Pelargonium leaves from the southern-Africa Karoo desert, and Mentha arvensis (mint). DDi Cederberg evokes a sense of wellbeing, with chemotyped linalool benefits of reduced anxiety, anti-headache, enhanced energy and stress reduction (*L3).
Expect a linalool-rich measured dose, in tandem with attentive benefits. Beneficial for attaining non-anxious alertness. Calm and focused, rather than over-stimulation.
THE CEDERBERG FLORISTIC KINGDOM
The Cederberg region is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, rich in phytotherapy. From here, growing beside our blue rosemary (rosmarinus officinalis ct 1,8-cineole) and thyme (thymus vulgaris ct linalool) you will find rooibos tea ("red bush", aspalathus linearis), with anti-oxidant, blood-pressure and LDL cholesterol benefits, buchu (agathosma betulina) - and the potent hoodia ("bushman's hat", hoodia gordonii), the best known case of bio-piracy of African plants (Pfizer and Phytopharm took plant specimens and filed patents without the knowledge or consent of the area's indigenous people, the San). Phytotherapy and measured dose research shows that, after rosemary inhalation treatment, subjects felt more active, performed better on measurable cognitive performance task, described a state of "freshness" and reported enhanced quality of memory.
EEG analysis showed a reduction in alpha1 (8-10.99 Hz) and alpha2 (11-12.99 Hz) waves, and increment in beta waves (13-30 Hz), confirming the stimulatory effects of rosemary oil and provide supporting evidence that brain wave activity, autonomic nervous system activity, as well as mood states are all affected by the inhalation of the rosemary oil. 1,8 cineole is a dominant inhalable scent molecule in chemotyped blue rosemary. Brain, performance and nutrition research shows 1,8 cineole absorbed from rosemary aroma affects cognition and subjective state through neurochemical pathways. Specifically, improved performance in speed and accuracy outcomes and, significantly, no trade-off of speed vs accuracy. In addition, a noted improvement in "contentedness". (*C1)
